A design compeition that all the seniors vote on
Expo Design
The design for each expo is a competitive process. Seniors in both sections submit individual designs and both classes vote on the most successful one for marketing the event. Posters, postcards and social media ads are created with the chosen design. This year, Luis Galvez's design won the competition.
Eli Monjaras
My name is Luis Galvez, and I have been going to Farmingdale for three years for the Visual Communication program. I transferred here from Nassau Community college back in 2019. I chose Farmingdale State College because of the wonderful reviews. I learned so much from professors and classmates, which helped me throughout my college career. They inspired me to create my design style. I can't wait to start my design career with the knowledge I learn from Farmingdale.
I always wanted to be in a senior project expo, But I'll never imagine myself winning the poster design contest. For the design, my main goal was to take a different route than other expo posters from prior years that featured 3d design. I have been self-teaching myself blender during the summer and wanted to put my new skill into practice. This poster was mostly created in blender. My main inspiration came from neon lights, futuristic, geometric, crystal, and ionosphere. I feel this was the best way to present Farmingdale in a unique way.
Congratulations to the graduating class of 2022, and thank you for having me.
