Expo Design

The design for each expo is a competitive process. Seniors in both sections submit individual designs and both classes vote on the most successful one for marketing the event. Posters, postcards and social media ads are created with the chosen design. This year, Julia Randzzo's design won the competition.

Julia Randzzo

My name is Julia Randazzo. I began my college journey at Suffolk County Community College before transferring to Farmingdale State College to continue my education in the Visual Communications department. Making the transition to Farmingdale was one of the most influential steps in my academic and creative growth. The program not only strengthened my technical design abilities but also helped me develop a deeper understanding of visual storytelling, creative problem-solving, and the power of thoughtful design. 

Throughout my time in the program, I had the opportunity to learn from professors who constantly encouraged me to push my ideas further and explore new approaches. Their guidance introduced me to a wide range of design styles and techniques that challenged and expanded my perspective. I also had the privilege of working alongside many talented students whose creativity motivated me every day. The sense of community and collaboration within the Visual Communications department has played a significant role in shaping who I am as a designer. 

I am incredibly grateful and honored to represent the Senior Project Design Expo in the Fall of 2025. When creating my project, I wanted to design something that truly represents the spirit, dedication, and passion of the program. Adobe Photoshop is one of the essential tools taught in our curriculum, and it has become a central part of my creative process. It has been a key program throughout my journey at Farmingdale, helping me bring my ideas to life in meaningful ways.
