Chantel Ramos Expo Poster Design

Expo Design

The design for each expo is a competitive process. Seniors in both sections submit individual designs and both classes vote on the most successful one for marketing the event. Posters, postcards and social media ads are created with the chosen design. This year, Chantel Ramos's design won the competition.

Chantel Ramos

My name is Chantel Ramos. I originally transferred from Nassau Community College and was fortunate to continue my academic journey at Farmingdale State College within the Visual Communication Department. This program has inspired me to become a better designer, allowing me to connect with incredible professors and staff. I was fortunate to learn from the professors and my classmates, whose insights have motivated me to improve my design skills and knowledge. Looking back on my experiences and growth, I've come to appreciate the significance of applying these skills in practical settings, leading me to explore exciting opportunities outside the classroom.

I have aspired to represent the Senior Expo Project since the beginning of my first semester. I am truly honored to have won this competition and deeply grateful to my fellow classmates for selecting my design to represent their show. Over the past few semesters, I've been reviewing past senior expo posters and thinking about how to effectively represent our department and showcase the hard work of my classmates. One requirement for a class was to purchase a cutting mat, which all Visual Communication students will eventually need during their educational journey. This seemingly simple object plays an essential role in our creative process. Due to its role in our creative process, this simple object has become the primary design element to showcase students' workspace before the final productions, highlighting their dedication and progress while offering a glimpse of the upcoming exhibition.

Congratulations to my fellow classmates! Never stop designing!
